Free Products for Your Hair
Many students from the African Diaspora struggle with finding ethnic hair care products in Davis. This speaks to the larger issue regarding the lack of diversity in the area. Students from the African Diaspora are at an unfair disadvantage as it pertains to finding a variety of hair care products in the area. The hair pantry will provide a vehicle for students to try new products, save money and have the opportunity to engage with others around hair.
How to receive our products
Point System
Products are given in sample size containers each counting for one Hair Closet (HC) point. UC Davis students are given 15 HC points each quarter to receive any products they desire that is available. Students are only given 5 points maximum per request. We ask that you email us your request 24 hours in advance to have ready the next day. We also ask that if you’d like to see a new product in the Hair Closet we currently don’t have, feel free to contact us at: eop@ucdavis.edu and we will do our best to accommodate your request. Please be sure to put Hair Closet in the subject line of the email!
